About The PubOnly ten minutes from Colchester town centre, yet in country surroundings, the Donkey and Buskins is a family run pub and restaurant serving mainly home cooked food. The pub recently won a prestigious C.A.M.R.A. Award and always has at least three different real ales on offer. We have also been awarded the coveted 'Four Star' Certificate for Food Hygiene by Colchester Borough Council. There is a magnificent garden for customers' enjoyment, when the British weather permits, plus a play area to entertain the children. There is a very large car park. We also have baby changing facilities available. A marquee is available for private functions - please call and talk to the manager about your requirements. There are also two separate en-suite letting rooms, set in their own garden, at competitive prices for either bed and breakfast or bed, breakfast and evening meal. There is an extensive menu, supplemented by the Chef's specials of the day, which can be enjoyed in one of the three dining rooms. The dining rooms are also available for private parties. The pub quiz on Sunday evenings is always very popular, come early to avoid disappointment. Food service is from 12 noon until 2.30pm and 6.00pm until 9.00pm weekdays, 12 noon until 9.30pm on Saturdays and 12 noon until 7.30pm on Sundays. The bar is open from 11.30am until 3.00pm and 5.30pm until 11.30pm on weekdays and from 11.30am until midnight at weekends and Bank Holidays.
